Stephanie Dinkins
Stephanie Dinkins is a Brooklyn-based transmedia artist and professor at Stony Brook University born in 1964. Her work raises awareness of artificial intelligence in relation to data sovereignty and social equity, often through community engagement. Dinkins earned an MFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 1997 and is an alumna of the Whitney Independent Studies Program.
Dinkins’s has exhibited solo at the Gallatin Gallery at New York University (US), Harvestworks (US), and University Art Gallery at Stony Brook University (US). She has participated in group exhibitions at De Young Museum (US), Transfer Gallery (US), Museum of Contemporary Photography in Chicago (US), Parsons School of Design (US), Philadelphia Museum of Art (US), Vancouver International Film Festival (US), the Barbican (UK), Miller Gallery at the Carnegie Mellon University (US), the Cooper Gallery at Harvard University (US), Stamps Gallery at the University of Michigan (US), International Center of Photography (US), Ford Foundation (US), and NARS Foundation (US). Her work forms part of the collections of the Whitney Museum (US) and the Art Omi (US).
